She had a special interest in small ruminants and held the positions of vice president and treasurer for the Small Ruminant Club while on the island. She was also very active in the Feral Cat Project during her schooling and continues to foster cats and kittens. Her clinical year was spent at Iowa State University, College of Veterinary Medicine where she had a special interest in emergency medicine.

She is also an artist and loves painting and drawing. A fun fact about Dr. McKibbin: She grew up in rural Minnesota, where she showed horses and was extensively involved in 4-H and FFA. She completed an equine internship her first year out of vet school and then transitioned to mixed animal (small animal and equine) for four years before starting at PetsVet Animal Hospital.
